Welcome to SWR Counseling
located in Springfield, MO.
I use a person-centered approach that facilitates healing by providing empathetic support.
The challenges of recent years have placed a significant emotional burden on many of us. While familiar coping mechanisms may have once provided relief, they may no longer effectively ease the symptoms of anxiety and depression. With over five years of experience in practice, I am committed to creating a safe and compassionate space where individuals can find hope, gain insight, and foster growth. My role is to support clients in exploring past wounds, expressing their emotions, and empowering them to move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and confidence.I believe many people move through life without fully stepping into their true selves, often held back by fear of rejection or limiting beliefs instilled by others. My goal is to support you in healing from past trauma, navigating unhealthy attachments, and building a future filled with peace and fulfillment.
I specialize in working with individuals who have struggled to find their voice and have faced the weight of depression and anxiety. Together, we will unpack the pieces that were never truly yours and help you reclaim the ones that align with who you are becoming. So often, our emotional struggles stem from not feeling safe enough to advocate for ourselves and be truly heard.
Drawing from my education and experience, I will meet you where you are, ensuring that you feel heard and understood at a pace that feels right for you. I also provide education and resources to support your healing journey beyond our sessions. Through our therapeutic relationship, you will gain the confidence to step into the world as the person you discover in our work together.

Areas of Practice
Depression & Trauma
I work with clients who may be struggling with depression or trauma related to their relationships or family. During our initial sessions, going at a pace you are comfortable with, we will deep dive into the issues at hand, collaborating together to create plans addressing each in a way that helps you get your life where you want it.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
I most often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy mixed with Mindfulness. In your first session, we'll explore the reasons that have brought you into therapy and then decide the most appropriate methods to help you make the most progress. With the use of CBT, we will look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. I am here to help you navigate your past hurts and heal.
Availability
I offer therapy sessions online via video. I am available Monday - Friday.
About me
A little backstory on your counselor: I began my career at 18, working in group homes and Independent Living Services (ILS) with individuals with developmental disabilities. This experience instilled in me a deep appreciation for resilience and the power of support in fostering growth. My journey then led me to North Carolina, where I expanded my focus to working with children in the mental health field. For ten years, I served as a case manager, walking alongside children and families as they navigated challenges, while also pursuing my Master of Arts in Counseling.
With a passion for guiding others toward healing and self-discovery, I returned to my home state of Missouri to continue this work as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Springfield, MO. My goal is to create a space where individuals can find hope, gain insight into their experiences, and cultivate the growth needed to build a more fulfilling and empowered future.
